For Schools:

Artist Mentor for Barbican Centre (Barbican Box)

Barbican Box aims to ignite and support theatre making in schools through a process of devising and creating work from scratch, giving students the opportunity to express their unique voices through the process of creating original work. Barbican Box 2019 is designed in partnership with Slung Low, an award-winning theatre company that makes adventures for audiences outside of conventional theatre spaces.

Emily, as an Artist Mentor, was responsible for leading three sessions in each of the three schools she was facilitating for. She run introductory sessions on devising, taught skills on theatre-making, and helped each group to devise a piece of theatre inspired by the objects of the Box.

For Young Professionals (Entrepreneurs, Business, Lawyers)

Confidence Coaching

A Physical Masterclass: Building Confidence in Who We Are

For 2 hours we will focus on exercises about:

- Building confidence with your body, your voice, and the people around you.

- We will learn specific exercises to release tension from the muscles, relax the body, learn how to breath correctly before stressful presentations/days.

- Status games: how can one feel confident in a public environment and out of one’s comfort zone.

- Acting exercises and improvisations: how can you best use your body language, your voice’s volume, pitch and rhythm to best present yourself in a public situation.

If you want to learn the tricks that actors use to feel confident in front of many people, or if you just want to have fun trying something new, then come along!

This is a workshop addressed to non-actors (entrepeneurs, lawyers, business people and anyone who wants to build more tools and skills about public speaking).
